(01) Biography

Iweng is an iconic figure of Indonesian contemporary art, known for his vibrant, multi-dimensional landscapes.

First recognized internationally at the Havana Biennale while still a student in Fine Arts, he has since been featured in over forty exhibitions, including major solo shows in Jakarta and Bali.

With a recent art capsule in New York and an upcoming exhibition in Paris, Iweng enters a broader dialogue shaped by cross-cultural collaborations.

Monumental Work

Rimbaraya Syurganyata is an immersive work composed of twenty-seven canvases, measuring 7 meters high by 14 meters wide, which brought Iweng international recognition at the Havana Biennale in 2000.

Initiated during his Fine Arts studies, the work has evolved over twenty-eight years, embodying Iweng's entire life journey and creative process.

Conceived as a multi-dimensional landscape, Iweng sees Rimbaraya Syurganyata as both an inner exploration and a spiritual voyage through the vast realms of nature and the universe.
